Robbo's Story

Dumpa's the Problem

Robbo's parents divorce when he is only six years old.
Before this , they quarrelled a lot.

Callie tries to make them stop .
She is very hurt by their rows. ( argument )

After the divorce , their mother marries Roy.

Soon, Roy and Mother(Hope) have a young son named Dumpa.

First , let me introduce Robbo's family,

Callie hates her stepfather.
She cannot adapt to the new family.
She call roy The Beard.

Roy becomes bossy after Dumpa is born.

She is delighted when Roy has a row with her mother.

Robbo tries to mediate between Roy and Callie but fails.

Callie tries to get her parents back together by arranging 'chance' meetings between them.
But her plan does not work. They end up arguing.

Callie tries to make mother and Roy argue so that her mother can divorce with Roy and get back to her father.

One day, Callie pushes her bike in a narrow space between Roy's car and the bushes.
She almost scratches Roy's car.

Roy is furious and he and Callie end up shouting and arguing.
Mum becomes involved in it too.
Mum tells Roy to leave Callie alone.

Roy is hurt and he stops sending Callie to school.

Dumpa will only listen to his father.

One day , after the big fight , he follows Roy outside into the cold weather.

When his mother asks him to come into the house, he refuses.

Roy does not help the situation either.
He rather likes Dumpa only listening to him.
Robbo tries to help get Dumpa inside too.
Dumpa was trailing in the snow.

Then, Robbo was sent to persuade Dumpa to come inside.
Robbo tried to trick Dumpa but was unsuccessful.
Robbo goes back into house and get a strawberry rocket ice lolly.
Then , He succeed in coaxing Dumpa into the house by offering him a strawberry rocket ice lolly.

Mum still stucks in the middle between her husband and daughter.
She finds it difficult to manage.

Callie then realise the only solution is to move to her father's house.
This is to sort things out as they cannot continue living as they are..

Dad ( Callie and Dumpa's Dad ) agrees to this.

He ask Mum and Roy to takes a break.
Dad offers to help look after Dumpa.

Lastly , Callie moves back to her father's house and lives with father.

开个玩笑而已，真正的题目是 Dumpa's the problem.
因为我觉得 Callie 很麻烦，所以她才是 problem xD

虽然 Robbo是主角，可是他的戏份真的很少。
Robbo 的爸爸妈妈在他 6岁时候就离婚了。
因为他们时常吵架.

Callie 每次都想试下去停止他爸爸妈妈的吵架，可是每次都失败。

离婚后，Robbo 的妈妈然后就嫁给了 Roy.
Callie 不喜欢 Roy.
她不愿意接受 Roy.

很快的， 妈咪 和 Roy 就有了新的 Baby __ Dumpa.

生了 Dumpa 以后 ， Roy 就很喜欢命令 Robbo 和 Callie 做事了。
Callie 每次都弄到场面很不愉快。

Robbo 试着去调解Callie跟Roy之间的问题。
可是 Callie 很固执，不听 Robbo 的话。

因为Callie超不乖的，Roy就跟妈咪吵架。
Callie 很开心，因为她相信只要妈咪和Roy一直吵架，他们总有一天会离婚，然后就能够回去 Daddy身边。

Callie 就开始私底下 planning 了咯。
一直故意安排 妈咪 跟 爹地见面， 她以为这样做就能够让他们在回一起。
但是还是失败了。

有一天， Callie 就特地推她的脚车去Roy的车隔壁，差一点就刮到Roy的车。
Roy 很生气，就跟 Callie 吵架。

妈咪就叫Roy不要理 Callie,不要跟 Callie 吵架。
Roy 觉得很伤心， 因为 Callie 怎样都不喜欢他。
然后，他就不要再载Callie 上学了。

有一天 ， Roy 和家人吵架，就闹脾气 ， 就跑出屋站在雪地里出气。
Dumpa 很听爸爸的话， 他就跟爸爸一起出去。

妈咪怕 Dumpa 着凉，就叫 Dumpa 进来，可是Dumpa很听爸爸的话不要进去屋子里面。
Roy 心里面就暗爽，因为 Dumpa 最听他的话。

妈咪就派 Robbo 去叫 Dumpa 回来。
第一次，失败。
然后 Robbo 就去拿了一个 Strawberry rocket Ice lolly 去引诱 Dumpa.
然后他成功了。


问题还是没有解决。

Callie还是和Roy 不合。
Callie 觉得最好的解决方法是搬去跟她真正的爸爸住。

Daddy (真正的爸爸) 同意 Callie 搬回去。
真正的爸爸是个心肠非常好的人。
他看到 妈咪和 Roy 感情有问题，就叫他们去旅行，休息一下，不要为孩子烦恼。
还答应帮他们照顾 Dumpa.

最后， Callie 就跟爸爸住了。

Pixie's Story

The Pains in My Life

Pixie has a stepfamily when her father remarries.

Stepmother - Lucy
Stepsister - Hetty and Sophie.

She visits them two weekends a month.
She had her own room in the house.

One day , Hetty had an argument with Sophie.
So, Pixie had to share room with Hetty.

Pixie felt so angry because her father promised her that she will have a own room.

Pixie hates Hetty’s habits. Hetty drives her mad.
Most of all she hates the way Hetty teases her name-Priscilla.


Hetty was good at Maths and has good natural manners.
 Pixie thought of ways to get her out of the room.


Ways to get Hetty out of the room.
1. started to do things to show the room is haunted.
2.  started to tell ghost stories about the room but Hetty did not get scared.
3.  disturb her by asking her maths questions.

Then, Hetty complains to her mother (Lucy).
Lucy tries to resolve the conflict.

but then , Pixie bursts out , voicing her unhappiness.

After much shouting , both cry and make up.
The tension is lifted.
They become more understand to each other after the argument.

They try to be a happy family after this incident.

Pixie still finds her stepsisters irritating but is able to tolerate them now.

Pixie 很讨厌 Hetty, 最讨厌 Hetty 帮自己取花名。

她想了很多方法要让 Hetty 自己搬出房间。

Ways to get Hetty out of the room. 方法
1. started to do things to show the room is haunted.

Richard's Story

Richard's Story 

Richard's father has a fever.
Before his father passed away, he was asked not to cry and be strong when facing his father.
He wonders how he could be strong at a time like this.
He is just a child. Why is everyone expecting him to act well and stay strong?

After his father's death , his mother marries Coldstone.
He calls Coldstone a 'black black bat'.

Coldstone wants to tame his wild ways.
but fail.

Then , Coldstone sends Richard to Mordanger School (a boarding school) for 4 years.

After he gets back home, he cannot get along with Coldstone.
He hate Coldstone and he thinks Coldstone is a mean stepfather.

Whenever he is having an argument with Coldstone , his sister and mother ask him to compromise with Coldstone.
He felt  like a stranger in his own house because everyone is getting well with Coldstone.
He felt betrayed because his sister and mother didn't defend him when Coldstone scolded him.
He can't feel love in the house.

He decides to leave home and go to sea.
He think this is the best way to solve the family problem.

First , he works as a cabin boy.
Later on he is promoted to Captain.

After Richard had left home.

Richard's mother , Lilith spends money to find Richard.
Coldstone unsatisfied on Lilith's behavior .
He felt that was wasting money.
Lilith always argues with Coldstone about the money but she never give up to search Richard.

Later , Lilith died due to heartbreak.

Richard's sister , Charlotte ,  wanted to continue the searching of Richard.
So, she married to a wealthy man that she doesn't love just because the man promised to give her money to find Richard.

In the next few years, (the years that his mom and sister still alive )
he stops by front of his house twice but never goes inside.

 He cannot bear to see Coldstone and his family.

Lastly , he found a letter left by Charlotte for him in his room when he get back home.
It says that his mother never stopped spending money to look for him.

When Coldstone found out, he was enraged and died in fury.

He has inherited Old Harwick Hall. (Richard's home)

Richard is unsure to stay in the mansion or to disappear again.

The diary stops there.

Richard 的日记一开始就写爸爸生病了。 (fever)

他的爸爸已经奄奄一息了。
他妈妈叫他千万不能哭，他爸爸又叫他要照顾妈妈和 sister。
因为他是家里剩下的唯一一个男人了。

他觉得很难过，明明他是个小孩子却要他坚强，不能哭。

然后爸爸死了过后，
richard的妈咪 ， Lilith 就嫁给了 reverend coldstone。
这个冷石头职业是个牧师，但行为却很卑鄙

Richard不喜欢这个 Coldstone
他帮他取花名 - Black black bat (黑黑的蝙蝠)
* 因为他穿牧师袍时候很像蝙蝠

Coldstone看到 Richard很不喜欢他，就要驯服他。

Richard 当然不顺从啦

Coldstone 一生气就送他去一个住宿学校 (Mordanger boarding school)
学校名字看起来都那么危险了。

四年后，读完书了，Richard回家了。
他更讨厌 Coldstone 了，他觉得 Coldstone 很卑鄙。

他时常和 Coldstone吵架。
每次他们两个吵架时，
他的姐姐和妈咪都没有帮他。

他觉得自己在家里就很像一个陌生人、
每个人都跟 Coldstone 好，他被石头骂时都没人站出来帮他，他的姐姐/妹妹 - Charlotte 还叫他妥协，不要再跟 Coldstone 作对。

他觉得被家人背叛了， 他觉得家里的人都不爱他了。

他决定离家出走去航海

开始时，他先做水手 (cabin boy)
后来，他慢慢升职变成 Captain 船长

在他离家出走的这几年，他曾经偷偷回去在屋子外面看过他的家人2次。
因为他不敢面对他们。

其实，在他离家出走这几年，他的妈妈跟sister都疯了。
妈咪 Lilith 用很多钱找他。
Coldstone 不爽因为花了很多钱 (Coldstone很贪钱的)
后来， Lilith 妈咪心痛而死了。 (died due to heartbreak)

Richard的 sister - Charlotte 很爱Richard.
要继续找 Richard.
所以她嫁给了一个很有钱但她并不爱的男人。
因为这个男人答应给她钱去找 Richard.

最后， 他还是回家了。
他找到了一封Charlotte给他的信。

信里面说 ：“妈咪一直没有放弃过找你，每天都花很多钱找你。”

Richard 看了很感动，也很生气自己当初为什么离家出走。
他很内疚，因为害到妈妈心痛而死了，又害到姐姐嫁给不喜欢的人。
他觉得他误会了Charlotte和妈妈不爱他，其实他的妈妈和 Charlotte 还是很爱他的。

当 Coldstone 发现 Charlotte 给 Richard 的这封信时，他气死了。

Richard 继承了他的家 (Old Harwick Hall)

他很不确定他要留在家里还是消失回去航海。

日记到这里就停了

Claudia's Story

The Green Pyjamas 

Claudia's parents are unhappily married.
Her father is having an affair with a woman named Stella.

Soon, her father moves out to stay with Granny (Claudia's Grandmother)

* Claudia has to visit him in Granny's house.

Granny is very angry with her son (Claudia's father) .
She feel that he should spend more time with Claudia instead of spending time with Stella.

Father and Granny have an argument.

As a result, Claudia's father moves out to Stella's house.

* Claudia has to visits her father on weekends at Stella's house.

Stella want to get along well with Claudia but Claudia doesn't want to because she want to be loyal to her mother.
Claudia feels that if she gets along well with Stella is betraying her mother.

So, she rejects Stella's friendly attempts.


How Claudia avoid Stella?
1. ignore Stella's greeting
2. refuse to walk together with Stella
3. do not want to sit beside Stella when having dinner.
4. Stella gift her a green pyjamas but she never wear it.

One day, Stella's house is having a party.
Claudia's father's thirty-seventh birthday party.
Claudia refuses to join them.

She decided to have her meal in her room.
After her meal, she sneaks downstairs.
She hid behind the fern and eavesdrop the guests' conversation,
She found out the the guests were ignoring Stella.

Claudia suddenly felt compassion for Stella and decides to put on the green pyjamas Stella has given her and show it off in front of the guests.

She goes downstairs and tell guests how beautiful the pyjamas is and how Stella had bought it for her.

This make it easier for Dad's friends to accept Stella.

The green pyjamas start the friendship between Claudia and Stella.

Colin is the most pity character.

Colin never knew who was his biological father.
His mother leaves his father a few weeks after Colin was born.

Colin's mother remarried to Jack.

Jack is the only father Colin has know.
They were very closed.

Why were they very closed to each other?
1.  They do many things together.
2.  Jack walks Colin to school
3.  Jack remembers Colin's friends' names.
4.  Jack knows his favourite animals.
5.  Play with Colin in the park.
etc.

But soon, Colin's mother leaves Jack and takes Colin away from Jack.
* Because Jack refuses to have a proper job.

Colin's mother take away Colin from Jack without his acknowledgement .

Colin and his mother moved to a new place and started a new life.
But Colin was unhappy.

Colin missed Jack very much.
He cannot concentrate on study.
He cannot make friends in school because everyone had their own friends already.
He pretended that Jack was still here.

How he missed Jack ?

Colin 刚出生几个星期，妈妈就带着他离开亲生爸爸了。

Ralph's story is the most complicated. 

Firstly, recognize these cartoons

Ralph comes from complex stepfamilies .

3 stepbrothers, 1 stepsister (not important)

1 stepfather , 2 stepgrannies (not important)

* half-brother/sister mean: brother/sister which is same father but different mother or same mother but different brother.

* Stepbrother/sister mean: different father different mother.

Ralph has to share his time with both mother and father.

As he cannot keep tracking of which parent's house he should go to after school each day, Annabel and his father develop a lunchbox system.

At last , she felt that she was taken advantage of so she leaves Ralph's father.
